On managed Mac devices, you can install applications and updates using Self Service, which manages the programs you are licensed to install and provides updates to both licensed programs and macOS.

Start Self Service

  1. Click Finder, then click Applications.
  2. In the Applications folder, click Self Service.

Install a program

  1. In Self Service, click the Optional Software tab.
  2. Look for the application you wish to install, then click the Install button for that item.

Update managed applications

  1. If there are updates available, Self Service will display a notification badge (number) with the Activity icon. The number shows how many pending updates are available.
  2. If you see an Activity notification badge, click Activity to display a list of the applications with pending updates.
  3. To update an application, click the Update button. To install all available updates, click Update All.

Uninstall a program

  1. In Self Service, click Software Uninstallersto see a list of installed managed applications.
  2. If you wish to uninstall an application, click Uninstall on its tile.
